THIRD PARTY ACCOUNTS 

Apps

• iOS: use you own Apple Developer Account or create a new one from Apple's website
• Android: use your own Google Play Developer account or create a new one from Google's website

Payment gateways

• Paypal: use your own paypal merchant account or create a new one at PayPal's website (it's necessary to receive payments by credit card or other paypal accounts)
• Onebip: use your own Onebip account or navigate to Onebip website and create your own merchant account (it's necessary to receive payments from mobile phones)

DOMAIN NAME

As you startup your VirualNewspaper platform will be reachable from a standard .virtualnewspaper.it/yourname address. Create a CNAME for your domain so that it is easily remembered by your customers. It's good practice to perform this operation as soon as possible since it might be time consuming. 

BACK END OPERATORS

On startup you'll be given a back end administrator account. From there you'll be able to control your platform.

• Login to your VirtualNewspaper backend onto your Main Desk
• Create back end operators. These are the people that work for you, grant them permissions according to their responsibility. 

PUBLICATIONS 

At startup your platform will have a number of titles that are created according to your needs. For each title you'll be given a specification on 

• where your should upload the PDFs via FTP. The FTP credentials will be provided to you on startup
• how your PDFs should be named and all the technical specifiactions on how they should be formatted
• when you should upload them
• manual publication of your PDFs
• automatic publication of your PDFs: you should provide the exact dates of publication of each title and give a time of publication according to when your PDFs are ready each time so that an automatic PDF processing shall be scheduled. 
• after your pdfs are out there enrich them with multimedia elements: hyper links, jump page links,  images, videos, HTML5 animations
• add Adverisements to your publications 

SHOP: WEB AND iTUNES

It's time to sell your publications. There are several formulas you can present your digital editions into.

• Setup and configure your products from the Products module. Remember not to make products that are not fully configured visible to your public.
• Configure your in-app purchase products on iTunes and bind them to your VirtualNewspaper products

Payments, shipping and reminders

• First of all connect your active merchant accounts (PayPal, OneBip) to the VirtualNewspaper
• Enable the payment methods and gateways from the Payments module
• For physical goods you have to define shipping methods and prices from the Shipping module.
• Bind each product to all payment methods you need. Now you can create reminder formulas that will offer your subscribers discounts if they decide to renew or purchase other products.
• Bind physical goods with the shipping methods you have created.

FRONT END

• Configure free reading time so that you can wet your users appetite for your publications. After the reading time is over, they'll be presented witha a paywall, instructing them to subscribe and purchase one of the products you have setup.
• Create Sponsored subscriptions to give new customers a trial period
• Activate social logins for your platform users, so that they can directly use their Facebook or Google Plus accounts to login to your platform
• You have to inform your customers that you'll be downloading cookies on their terminals. Organize all your cookies from the Cookies module

PERSONALIZE PLATFORM TEXTS & IMAGES

• Edit almost any label or description all over your platform (both front end and back end) from the Languages module
• Take care of Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions and Contacts
• Emails sent to the customer: account activation, order creation, order activation, business order activation from the Languages module
• Change your platform logo on a title basis from the settings module

APPS

• iOS: the release of these apps requires a minimum of 15 days. 
• Android: these apps are usually available in a couple of hours
